FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT’S ROWING BOATHOUSE CORPORATION RECEIVES DONATION FROM FIRST NIAGARA BANK
First Niagara recently awarded $25,000 to Frank Lloyd Wright’s Rowing Boathouse Corporation for the construction of the boathouse designed by Wright in 1905 and never before built.
“First Niagara proudly makes our support of charitable organizations a priority,” said Dan Cantara, First Niagara’s Regional President. “Supporting organizations like Frank Lloyd Wright’s Rowing Boathouse Corporation makes such a positive impact on youth rowing and cultural tourism in our community, it’s a great opportunity for us to help make a difference. By embracing the significance of giving as part of our business philosophy, we believe we are helping to make Western New York a better place to work and live.”
This donation will be used to fund construction of the boathouse, which began in September, 2006. To date the seawall, foundation and site work have been completed. Construction will continue through the spring and the structure is expected to be completed by late June.
Ted Marks, President of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Rowing Boathouse Corp., stated “Construction is underway on this exciting project and it is due to the generosity of First Niagara and many other area foundations and hundreds of individuals from across the country, that this project is a reality.”
